Tire cord fabric is the skeleton material of tire, which is divided into two kinds: weft cord fabric and non-weft cord fabric. The former is usually a cloth made of thick and high strength cord threads and thin and low strength weft threads. The warp threads bear almost all the load of the tire body, and the weft threads are only used to connect the warp threads so that they are evenly arranged. The latter is a cord fabric without weft. The main requirements for cord fabric are high strength, fatigue resistance, low extension, good heat stability, and good adhesion with rubber. The fiber materials for cord are cotton, nylon, polyester, rayon and steel wire.
